If you've somehow come across this blog and have read some of my other posts, you may have noticed that I am probably adequate enough when it comes to snark, sarcasm, or any of the other mockery traits that are abound in internet writing. Sure, I can complain about and pick apart things I don't like, but can I write about things that I do like, and can I do it in a way that is interesting? I don't think I can. This section of the blog is me trying to.
For me, writing about music or movies or television or just plain things I like is hard. First, it's really hard for me to not sound pretentious or authoritative. Second, I lack the expertise to really explain what it is that I like about something (I have no formal or even informal training and I've never really tried). So I'm going to try to remedy that first point by being self-aware, and hopefully remedy the second point by doing "Before and After" reviews. Basically, I will review each thing twice. For the "before" part, I will review the movie/music just after watching/listening to it, but also before (get it?) I have read anything about the music/movie or watched any special features or any explanations or blahblahyougettheidea.
Now I'll over-explain the "after" part: Later on, I will write a second review of the thing being reviewed (there's got to be a way to write that shorter; "thing being reviewed" seems kinda clunky). That's right, I'll do this after (note how seamless this all is) I've checked around to see what the experts or the artists themselves have to say about it. I'm going to assume the "after" part will be longer, as I seem to miss things easily or don't view them with the right things in mind or whatever.
Anyway, so that's kinda it: a blank-slate review and synopsis from a novice perspective followed by an attempt at a more accurate and informed review. Just like the rest of this blog and including this post, this will no doubt be boring to anyone who isn't me. But: why not?

First Post!
This site is basically for me. I want to archive all of my transactions that I conduct on eBay, Amazon, Etsy, and whatever else I can sell stuff on. I will expand this section later. I stole this layout from firejoemorgan.com, which is my favorite blog ever. Layout-wise, I like it's simplicity and lack of cluttering images.
Each post will be this: a run-down of the auction, the description I used, any edits I made later, and a link to a screenshot of the auction. I'll probably post tips/notes later, too. I dunno, pretty much anything I think of in relation to online transactions will be posted here.
A fair warning: this blog will be boring and a huge waste of time.

inaugural post
hello. i don't have anything clever to say to start this blog. i, like many people, am poor. also like many people, i enjoy food. combining these two facts can sometimes be fun.
with this blog, i hope to chronicle my forays into cheap eating. the majority of the things i eat (in addition to being cheap or free) also involve simple prep-work, as i am no chef. i love nothing more than buying a shitty, cheap frozen entree that is disguised as high- or even medium-class cuisine and eating the living shit out of it.
obviously, i'm not very good at writing, so the real showcase here is the food. enjoy, and thanks for stopping by.
also, for reference: "daily price" is price it would cost if you were to "live on" the food in question. i take the price and divide it by calories of the product and multiply by 2,000 (the daily recommended amount of calories for an adult human).
EDITED, MUCH LATER:
i probably should've put this in the first post, but here's a few guidelines that we abide by for this blog:
-the food should be cheap
-the food should be kinda easy to cook
-we must follow the cooking instructions printed on the box
-we must consume the entire thing in one sitting
at any point, we can break any of these rules. for example, i don't think it's going to be physically possible to eat the whole box of "cheese club macaroni and cheese" (which utilizes a pouch of gooey, disgusting cheese that you just pour on top of the cooked macaroni).
anyway, those are the 'rules'.
